The cabinet will focus on the artwork of Adriena Šimotová, Alena Kučerová, Věra Janoušková, Daisy Mrázková, and Vlasta Prachatická, members of the UB 12 group. In the 1960s, Umělecká beseda was an open association of free-thinking artists emphasising individuality and authenticity, before it was officially banned with the advent of normalisation. The display will focus on works on paper from the NGP collection. Drawings and prints will be accompanied by objects by female sculptors. We will question the specifics of the artists’ respective works, resulting from the subtle differences in feminist approaches to art.
